Acclaimed country artist, writer, singer, guitarist and patriot Michael Eston is proud to be performing for families and athletes at the  2014 Family Program in support of Warrior Games.

Michael Eston, a patriot who’s beliefs are firmly rooted in the belief that ‘Freedom is Not Free’, will be saluting to our nation’s heroes and their loved ones at a benefit concert on September 27, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The 2014 Warrior Games is on Facebook for competitors, family members and the general public to visit.

The 2014 Warrior Games will be hosted in Colorado Springs, Colorado, from September 28 to October 4, 2014.  Athletic events will be hosted both at the U.S. Olympic Training Center and the U.S. Air Force Academy.

The Mission of the Warrior Games is to “serve as an introduction to Paralympic sports for injured service members by inspiring recovery, physical fitness, and promoting new opportunities for growth and achievement”.  T

U.S. Olympic Committee announces dates for 2014 Warrior Games

The United States Olympic Committee has announced the dates for the 2014 Warrior Games.Picture of Honor Guard for the Warrior Games

The Warrior Games will take place in Colorado Springs, Colorado from September 28 to October 4, 2014.  Athletic facilities at the United States Air Force Academy and the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs will be utilized.

A TeamUSA announcement on January  14, 2014, notes that the “competition for wounded, injured and ill service members and veterans was created in 2010 by the USOC, in partnership with the Department of Defense and United Service Organizations (USO), to create competitive sports opportunities for injured service members and to enhance awareness about the impact and need to create sustainable physical activity programs for thousands of injured members of the Armed Forces at the community level.”

The Warrior Games is a venue for two hundred service members and veterans who will “compete in seven sports (archery, cycling, shooting, sitting volleyball, swimming, track & field and wheelchair basketball) over six days in 2014. Five teams representing the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Special Operations Command will select their own rosters; each team will be comprised of 40 athletes.”
